Bowling Night

November 26, 2013 by greysuitcase in Weekend

One weekend in August, my sisters came to visit from San Francisco. Like any other time that we got to spend together, we do what we usually did, just hang out and enjoy each other's company. We went to grabbed sushi for dinner after I picked them up from the airport. After that, we went bowling. We pretty much spent 80% of our time trying NOT to get the ball into the gutter. We played pretty badly that night, but towards the end, we finally got the hang of it. My youngest sister took the first place and treated us bubble tea afterwards.

Fall Weekend in Portland

November 19, 2013 by greysuitcase in Food, Weekend

I went to Portland with a couple of friends two weekends ago. We drove there midday on Saturday and stay overnight. We went shopping at Woodburn Outlets, tried a couple new restaurants we've never been before and got to enjoy a gorgeous fall afternoon in the park. Here are some snapshots from my iphone.

Boating at Lake Union

October 13, 2013 by greysuitcase in Events, Weekend

With the wrap up of my Korea Trip posts, now it’s time to catch up on my summer photos. Summer in Seattle this year was pretty awesome. We had fabulous weather and it was a prefect time to do outdoor activity. One Sunday, I went boating with a couple of my friends at Lake Union. I’ve gone before for a company outings and it was pretty fun. So I thought I asked my friends if they want to tried it out. Everyone was pretty excited since it’s their first time and we ended up having a lot of fun.

We rented the boat from The Electric Boat Company for 2 hours and brought our own lunch to eat on board. We got to operate the boat ourselves, which was pretty fun, and they gave us a map with locations that we should avoid since it might get our boat stuck. They guys mostly did the driving since they’re pretty good at it. After 2 hours, we came back to the dock and overall, it’s a fun day.

Archery: Take Two

September 26, 2013 by greysuitcase in Moments, Weekend

Went to the archery range two weeks ago with a couple of friends. This is my second time trying archery (first time in Seattle) and I think I did better than the first one. When we arrived at the place, it was pretty packed. One guy helped out our group to get our bows. First, he made us do this eye check to determined which one of our eyes is the dominant one and told us that we should aim with that eye. No wonder the last time I did this, my arrows never landed onto the target, I was aiming with my non-dominant eye *sigh*. At least now I know :) He made us tried a couple of different bows and in the end us girls settled with the lightest bow (he had to make one for us too since there’s none available) and the guys with the heavier ones.

They gave us side-by-side lanes. It was a little bit tight since the range was full but they were kind enough to make rooms for us, so we’re grateful. The guy went over the range’s rules and taught us how the use the bows and arrows. After that, we pretty much just took turns and shoot. The first couple of rounds were hard. The arrows landed NOT on the target paper, but around it. But after half and hour or so, we all gotten a little better. Just need to practice I guess. We stayed there for about 2 hours until closing time. By the end of the session, I got used to the bows, which was kinda nice. Although I have a feeling tomorrow my arms are going to be sore like crazy. Nevertheless, it was fun.
