Leavenworth

December 24, 2012 by greysuitcase

The weather is not as bad this weekend, so we decided to drive to Leavenworth to see some snow. I guess the timing is really fitting since it’s a couple of days before Christmas and my mom really wants to go. We drove two cars from Seattle since there are 12 of us. It was quite a nice drive. We arrived in Leavenworth around lunch time.

For Lunch, we picked Andreas Keller German Restaurant to try out their Bavarian food. We walked down the stairs and into the restaurant located in the cellar (“the keller”). German music was playing and there are wood-carved booths inside the restaurant. We ordered a couple of dishes to share on the table, family-style.

Schweinshaxe A giant “Munich-Style” rotisserie-broiled pork hock, served with German-fried potatoes, Weinkraut and red cabbage.

After we got our stomach full, we just walked around the area to explore the small town. It was snowing for a while when we started walking but it stopped after a while and makes it easier to enjoy the outdoor. We walked into a couple of shops and went to the park afterwards.
